Many profile and geometry imports allow an integer track number to be translated into an alphanumeric code during the import process. The Setup dialog for track number translation, available from most profile and geometry imports, looks like this:
This has been set to translate track numbers 1-4 into the alphnumeric codes, "M1" to "M4", and track number 0 into "?". All other track numbers remain unchanged.
The track number translation cannot be used if track code in the import source file already contains alphabetic or other non-numeric characters.
