The Curvature Option allows you to select between three representations of track curvature in most reports and screens: curvature in degrees, and curve radius and radian/km. If Radius is selected, it is expressed in feet if track is measured in miles or chains, or in meters if track is measured in kilometers.
Degree of curvature is the angle subtended by a 100-foot chord in all cases except curvature reported for Mexico, which is subtended by 1 20-mter chord. The Office user has the option to determine whether the curvature within the database is based on the default 100-foot foot chord or the optional 20-meter chord, as used in Mexico. The user will be issued a warning that changing the chord length that governs the curvature calculations within the database could make all curve-related data in the database inaccurate.
