When a database is opened or closed, or a batch process updates the database, a message appears in the Log Window. This window is always open, but only comes to the foreground when messages are written to it.
The contents of the Log Window are also written to the daily log file. This file is created in the working folder, and has the extension .log. The file name is constructed from the date, for example, 2014_01_23.log. The log file is a record of the history of your databases. Also, run processing statistics, which may be useful in guiding the selection of modeling options for future runs, are stored there. Old log files may be deleted at any time.
