The Maximum Pair Offset permits profiles from opposite sides of the track to be processed as a pair, even if they are slightly offset from one another in the direction of travel. Pair processing is used in the calculation of track gauge and cant angle. This option is useful only if many profiles from both sides of the track cannot be modeled. Normally, the maximum pair offset should be set to 0.0, to force the software to treat profiles as a pair only if they have the same odometer reading.
