The menu bar of the Two-Up Profile View window contains the main application menu.
The System menu contains generic functions.
Command This menu pick opens the Rangecam Command Window, which provides a command-level interface, low-level access to settings, and additional logging functions. It should be used only for low-level maintenance and diagnostic purposes under the direct supervision of Holland LP personnel.
Working Folder Sets the current folder to which output files, such as reports, will be written by Rangecam.
Current Database Shows which database is currently open.
Close Database Closes the database.
Registration Checks the registration of the installed copy of the software. If the registration is time-limited, a dialog is displayed with instructions on how to extend the license period or upgrade to a full license. See Software Registration in the Appendix.
Exit Closes Rangecam.
The Database menu gives access to maintenance functions for all user-maintained database tables (see Database Maintenance).
The Map pick on the menubar opens the Map Window.
The Run menu allows track measurement runs to be selected for viewing and reporting. Select Subdivision is used to change the subdivision containing the runs listed for selection. The Run menu contains Profile and Geometry submenus, each with functions specific to that type of data, including Import, Query, and specific calculations. Import is used to import track measurement runs. Query is used to find exceptions and drive reports. The Calculate All function is a convenient way to run batch processes on several optical, geometry or combined runs. Join and Split are used to combine runs and repackage them with different mileage boundaries.
The Profile Menu allows you to manipulate individual rail profiles. Most functions are duplicated by the picture buttons at the upper left (see Control Buttons). The Side submenu allows you to select the 'current' profile as Left, Right, or Either. If Either is picked, the colored dot indicating the selected side disappears. The behavior of the navigation functions in the Two-Up Profile View also changes. The Next and Previous buttons may have to be clicked twice to retrieve the next (or previous) pair of profiles.
The Profile Menu also enables you to perform actions such as recalculating measurements, deleting, or exporting profiles.
The Reports Menu allows the production of charts and all major reports. Some calculations (inventory, rail replacement forecast) are also accessed from this menu, as is the Export Run function.
The View Menu contains Zoom, Display and Print functions for the Two-Up Profile window.
Zoom Mark allows you to zoom in to a region of the window that you have selected with the mouse by clicking and dragging. If no region is marked it will restore the previous zoom setting. Zoom Full restores the default view. Clear Mark erases any currently marked region.
Display options for both rail and wheel profiles are also on the View menu.
The Options Menu allows you to set global options affecting program behavior and data presentation.
The Help menu pick provides on-line assistance on how to use Rangecam.
